A day in Leon

We headed out from the albergue and some men were busily working on this. They asked if I wanted a photo, hurriedly finished and moved out of my way.

The morning was beautiful
So we headed up the road to the cathedral...

And spent some time enjoying it
It was built when Leon was only a city of 5000.
The pulpit
This is so incredible. Often you see statues of Mary holding the baby Jesus but here you have her touching her belly...great with child...full of expectation and hope.

Dancers headed to the festival

I didn't bring the right clothes!
Dancers in Plaza Mayor
The second of three worship services I attended.

Leon cathedral after the rainstorm

Sunset after dinner and a beautiful, worshipful, peaceful day.
